MOVE WITH ME

A little bit about me

TLDR: I love to move in unique, fun, interesting ways- in community- set to a background of really good music and a reading by one of the greats.

My yoga origin story isn't the first of its kind. I was drawn to yoga because of my dance background and because it helped me overcome an injury. I stayed because it soothed my nervous system and increased my capacity for loving myself (and others).

My teaching style, however, is somewhat off-the-beaten-path.

Take a Vinyasa class (called Power Yoga or Love FLows depending on the studio) led by yours truly and you'll find elements of dance, pilates, and mobility work. My Sculpt classes are rigorous, upbeat, and heavily music-driven. All of my classes are grounded in a spiritual talk to support your own unique, inner journey, and set to a bumping playlist- think The Blaze meets Madonna meets Chance The Rapper. Most importantly, each class is come-as-you-are.

Sometimes we chant. Sometimes we sing. Sometimes we scream at the top of our lungs. You'll never be pressured into doing one movement one specific way- you know your body. There is, however, an invitation to lean in. Community is at the heart of everything- I'm in love with the importance of showing up for each other just as hard as we show up for ourselves.

My favorite sources of inspiration are Pema Chodron, Father Gregory Boyle, Indian mythology, and my Kindergarten students (oh yeah, I live a double life as a classroom teacher!).

Whether it's joining a group class, booking a private session, or joining my newsletter, The Huddle, for weekly pep talks - let me know what you're looking for. I would love nothing more than to be your personal hype girl.

TESTIMONIALS

Mairin is so much more than "teaching yoga" - it's a true experience. She always brings a thoughtful poem or quote to class - making you tune in to yourself & where you're at in the present moment. From there, she takes you through a one-of-a-kind yoga flow that you've never seen anywhere else. She also always has a bangin', curated playlist for each flow. I'm always reset & refreshed after class. You are in for a REAL TREAT!!

Mairin's classes are an amazing blend of opportunities to turn inward while challenging yourself physically. I always learn something new from the quotes or readings she shares, and I really appreciate her emphasis on meeting yourself where you are in that moment, it's something I try to carry with me throughout my practice and I'm grateful to her for that.

Mairin's classes are equally based in physical practice and spiritual energy. Everything from the sequences to music choices feels uniquely hers and unlike any other yoga classes I've taken before. I always leave Mairin's yoga classes feeling freer and lighter.
